Catherine founded the Edison Arts Society in February 1998. She organized and spearheaded the seven disciplines of music, theater, dance, fine arts, literature, film & video, and architecture/landscaping/interior design. Catherine was awarded the Medal of Honor for her contributions during the first Annual Gala Celebration in 2000. The Edison Arts Society wishes to thank Catherine for her dedication and commitment to the arts and commends her for her vision and dreams, that we as a community will benefit for years to come.
Catherine Miller Spadoro was born and raised in Beverly Hills, California the only daughter of Seton I. Miller (Oscar winner for his original play, "Here Comes Mr. Jordan," remade by Warren Beatty as "Heaven Can Wait"), and his wife Ann. Catherine grew up next door to Mia Farrow's family, across the street from Frank Lovejoy's family, a block south of Lucille & Desi Arnez, Jimmy Gloria Stewart, and rode the bus t school with Candice Bergen and Vickie Milland (daughter of Ray.) Catherine attended Westlake School for Girls in Los Angeles with the daughters of Efrem Zimbalist Jr., Betty Gable, Harry James, Peggy lee, Frank Loesser, Jack Wrather, Bill Wellman, Alan Ladd, William Wyler, and Fred Astaire. She then went on to the university of California and has also studies acting with Agnes Moorhead, Jeff Corey and FIWI (for stunt work.) her best friend since 1960 is Gloria May, Daughter of Ann Rutherford.
Catherine was a professional actress since the age of 18, specializing in light comedy roles in film and television. She moved to New York City in 1974 and quickly gained success in commercials and soap operas. She met George Spadoro (mayor of Edison Township) on a plane traveling from New York to Miami in 1975. They married in 1979 and are the proud parents of three beautiful children, Katie, Jasmine, and Michael.
Her commercial credits include over 500 television commercials, both on camera and voiceovers including products such as: Bayer Aspirin, Dixie Cups, Crest Toothpaste, Sunrise Coffee, Reynolds Wrap, Michelob Beer, and more than 100 commercials for Time and People magazines. She also played various roles in community theaters.
