Having been born in the Soviet Union, and a few years later moving to Turkmenistan has been quite an experience for me. My mother and I moved to Turkmenistan after my father's death where I started school. I also contributed to our family income at an early age by drawing things for people with my friend. I shortly found out that I had a paternal uncle (my father's brother) living in the United States of America. A few years later, I moved to the U.S. to live with my uncle leaving my mother behind. I went to Global Youth Village, an international camp in Bedford, VA, for six weeks which helped me pick up the language fairly fast. Because I've been studying English for three years in Turkmenistan it was not as difficult for me as for the other kids to learn. I continued with my schooling in middle and high school.

This fall, I am planning on attending Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Connecticut near New London with Painting as my major. It is interesting to note (at least to me) that I've lived in each of the three countries exactly six years each. No matter what happened in my life, good or bad, I am glad because it has made me who I am today. And I would not change that for the world.
