Edison Arts Society
High School Student Internship Program

The Edison Arts Society's former "Student Ambassador Program" has evolved into an exciting new opportunity for selected qualified students in the surrounding public and private schools to participate within. We wish to provide unique possibilities for students to learn from and work with the exceptional artists who reflect the various disciplines within our art society; therefore we have established a student internship program. As interns you are honorary members of the Edison Arts Society.

Students will be assigned internships according to their backgrounds and interests, as well as the needs of the particular artistic disciplines within our society. Discipline chairs, in conjunction with EAS staff, will help decide the placement of the particular internship.

Along with your roles as an intern, students will also be liaisons to their respective high schools, accomplishing all the duties that have been previously outlined in the former student ambassador program.

After being placed, you will be responsible for contacting the disciplines for information on how you can assist with upcoming events.

At the end of the internship year, there will be a final meeting of all the interns and EAS staff to review specific accomplishments. Any additional individualized meetings will be established by the needs of the particular internship.

As a Student Intern/Liason, each selected student must fulfill the following
obligations; along with their particular internship.

a. Distribute any EAS information to all Arts students in their high school.

b. Gather information from all visual arts, theater, literature and music instructors on upcoming events in their high school for     publication in our newsletter.

c. Provide the Edison Arts Society with feedback from teachers and/or students on what they would like to see the Edison         Arts Society do to improve the Arts for teenagers in our community and inform us of any needs.

In addition, the Edison Arts Society kindly requests each high school to honor these students in their end-of-year senior recognition ceremonies for their services as an Edison Arts Society Student Ambassador. EAS will present these students with certificates and thank you letters as an award for their outstanding leadership in the Arts in their school community.
