"I paint as I live, to make the most of each day."

Living in Edison since 1988 has been a positive influence on Mary Pazdan's painting. At the Edison Arts Society Spring 2005 "Gardens of Garden State" Art and Photography exhibit, her watercolor painting entitled "Fall Fantasy" received "Best in Show".

On a Printmaking scholarship from Drake University, Mary studied art in Florence, Italy. There she received her BFA in Fine Arts and Education. After graduating from Drake, she traveled and taught in England and in America. She was a ceramic artist in residence for the Park District of Chicago. After completing advanced studies at the University of Illinois, she was employed as an Art/Educational therapist.

In 1970 Ms. Pazdan developed MAR DESIGN where she creates commercial fine art and illustration. She has shown her works in galleries, art centers, and exhibits in Iowa, Chicago, New York, and New Jersey. In her spare time, she loves to do volunteer work for hospitals.

Ms. Pazdan was instrumental in securing prizes for this year's "Gardens of Garden State" exhibit, and hopes to continue spearheading this effort for the Edison Arts Society in years to come.

Edison Arts Society would like to congratulate visual artist Laura Grozovsky of Edison on being honored as Summer 2006 Artist of the Season. Ms. Grozovsky was chosen for this honor due to her obvious love for her community and the arts, and her dedication to the advancement of EAS's visual arts discipline.

Laura Grozovsky was born in Odessa, Ukraine, where she received a BFA from the College of Theater and Art, a M.F.A. from Tolstoy University in Russia, and a MFA from University of Arts, in Pennsylvania.

She has lived in Edison for ten years, and is employed as an art teacher at Old Bridge High School. She incorporates fashion design experience, theatrical elements and spirituality into her art, preferring acrylics and jewelry design.

Ms. Grozovsky's work "Orange Poppy" received second place recognition in the 2005 juried "Gardens of the Garden State" Art and Photography exhibit held at Menlo Park Mall. She has also exhibited her works in almost every show presented at the Gallery of EAS.
